The Church of the Nazarene is the largest denomination in the classical Wesleyan-Holiness tradition. The doctrine that distinguishes the Church of the Nazarene and other Wesleyan denominations from most other Christian denominations is that of entire sanctification. Nazarenes believe that God calls Christians to a life of holy living, which is exemplified within the Christian community. This life is marked by an act of God that cleanses the heart from original sin and fills individuals with love for God and humankind.
OUR MISSION Our Statement of Mission defines who we are, why we exist, and our reason for being.
Making Christlike Disciples in Our Community Christian discipleship is a way of life. It involves the ongoing process of learning how God would have us live in the world. As we engage in discipleship, we strive to live in obedience to the Word of God, submit to the disciplines of our faith, and hold one another accountable. Through this journey, we begin to understand the true joy of a disciplined life and the Christian meaning of freedom. Discipleship is not merely human effort or adherence to rules and regulations; rather, it is the means through which the Holy Spirit gradually brings us to maturity in Christ. It is through this process that we become people of Christian character, ultimately aiming to be transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18). Additionally, our worship services play a vital role in nurturing our faith and reinforcing our commitment to discipleship and community.
